Which Online Styling Service Is Right for You?

Whether you’ve always dreamed of having a personal stylist or just need a little bit of help staying privy to the latest trends, a Web-based home stylist may be exactly what you need. But with so many different options for styling services, it can be difficult to know which one is best for you. To help you decide, we detail three of the most popular below.

Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix is one of the most popular providers in the online styling space – and for a good reason. It works with over 1,000 brands to deliver the latest fashions for men, women, and children at all price points. It even has plus-size, petite, big and tall, and maternity options.

Stitch Fix will send you multiple items in a price range that you select. You have a lot of control over the guidelines given to your stylist, like, “Do not include purses or shoes” or “I need a black dress for a formal event next month.” You also get to preview your items before they are shipped to you. You pay for what you keep and send back the rest – no subscription required.

If you want to try it out, head to the website to grab a $20 credit for your first order, then fill out the style quiz. Or ask a friend who uses the service for a referral code, which can sometimes grant you even more credits toward your first “Fix.”

Wantable

Like Stitch Fix, Wantable connects you to fashion experts who want to make you feel your best. You pay a $20 styling fee and, in return, receive a box with seven items that you can try before buying. Returns are always free, and you have five days to make them.

To get started, take the style quiz, which will match you with items from hundreds of premium brands to your preferences. Wantable has slightly less flexibility in budget than Stitch Fix, with all items typically between $50 and $100.

Personal Shopper by Prime Try Before You Buy

This addition to your Amazon Prime subscription will give you access to a personal shopper that matches you to items from the Prime Try Before You Buy program. You can choose the frequency you are styled – one, two, or three month intervals. You pay a $5 styling fee but do not pay for any items until you decide to keep them! You also have more control over price points and the items you receive. You also have the option to swap and remove items from your order.
