Do You Need Warmup and Cooldown Exercises in Your Workout Routine?

The Warmup

Here is a quick warmup to try before your next workout:

  • March in Place: Start by stepping in place for two minutes. Lift your knees softly while swiveling your arms.
  • Arm Circles: Place your feet hip-width apart while standing, then spread your arms to the sides. Make little circles with your arms and then enlarge them.
  • Leg Swings: Swing one leg back and forth like a pendulum while holding onto a firm surface. Try 10 swings on each leg.

The Cooldown
