Movies Coming in 2023 We Are Excited About

One thing many of us have in common is our love for movies. Here are five highly anticipated films coming next year that we can’t wait to see!

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Release Date: February 17, 2023

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a fun and lighthearted part of the Marvel Universe that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Paul Rudd is always a treat to watch on screen, and he has such great chemistry with Evangeline Lilly. And we can’t wait to see Jonathan Majors reprise the role of Kang the Conqueror, whom we met on Loki. Watch the trailer here.

Creed 3

Michael B. Jordan not only returns to the Creed franchise to star in Creed 3, but he is also making his directorial debut. In the film, he plays the son of Rocky’s adversary and then friend Apollo Creed. Jonathan Majors also stars in Creed 3 as the main antagonist who wants to prove he deserves a chance in the ring. Also reprising their roles are Tessa Thompson as Creed’s girlfriend and Phylicia Rashad as his mother. Watch the trailer here.

The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid is the latest of Disney’s live-action remakes to hit the big screen. The cast includes Halle Bailey (Ariel), Melissa McCarthy (Ursula), Daveed Diggs (Sebastian), and Awkwafina (Scuttle). Lin-Manuel Miranda is one of the producers and songwriters for the movie alongside Alan Menken, who scored and co-wrote songs for the original animated film. Watch the trailer here.

Oppenheimer
Release Date: July 21, 2023

If you are a Christopher Nolan fan, you are probably aware of his latest project, Oppenheimer, a biopic about J. Robert Oppenheimer, the “Father of the Atomic Bomb.” Oppenheimer, as with most of Nolan’s projects, is filmed in IMAX and will be best appreciated on the big screen. The movie stars Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., and Florence Pugh. Watch the trailer here.

Barbie
Release Date: July 21, 2023

Starring Margot Robbie (Barbie) and Ryan Gosling (Ken), Barbie is a romantic-comedy set to release in July 2023. The film also includes America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Will Ferrell, and Michael Cera. And that is the most we know about it right now! The plot has been held close to the chest. When Amy Schumer was involved, the storyline revolved around Barbie being expelled from Barbie World, but she left the project in March 2017. Greta Gerwig is directing the film, but there‘s little else we know. Even an official trailer has yet to be released.
