Bolt (Netflix)
Another animated flick for your list is Bolt. Made to believe he’s a real superhero with real powers, Bolt the dog is a Hollywood actor who seems to struggle to tell the difference between reality and showbiz. He gets lost, goes on a journey and meets plenty of other furry friends along the way. There’s humor, there’s likely to be tears, but most importantly; there’s a happy ending.
Free Willy (Hulu)
If you fancy a more nostalgic or emotional option, then Free Willy is a beautiful and heart-wrenching story about a boy named Jesse who becomes friends with an orca whale named Willy who has been separated from his pod to live at an amusement park. You will definitely need some tissues, but it’s a wonderful film showcasing the love animals both give and deserve in return.
