How to Treat Dry, Cracked Feet

The warm weather makes it a perfect time to break out the sandals and let your feet breathe. Feeling embarrassed about your dry, cracked feet? We totally understand. That’s why we’ve come up with some helpful tips for making your feet smooth and gorgeous just in time for summer.

Limit Baths and Showers

Bathing for too long, especially in hot water, can cause dry skin, so limit your time to 5-10 minutes per day. When you get out, pat your feet dry with a towel.

Soak and Exfoliate

To start the healing process, soak your feet in lukewarm soapy water for 20 minutes. Once the time is up, use a loofah, foot scrubber, or pumice stone to exfoliate and remove rough, thick skin. Pat your feet dry with a towel and move on to the next step.

Moisturize

Now, we moisturize! After a good foot soak and exfoliation, apply a thick layer of moisturizer to lock in hydration and reduce dry skin. Try to avoid scented products, which can irritate dry skin. Instead, opt for formulas with natural ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, lanolin, urea, and hyaluronic acid.

Adopt an Overnight Routine

Try moisturizing with a thick layer of shea butter or coconut oil before bedtime. Use Saran Wrap to wrap your feet, then cover them with socks to hold it all together while you sleep. The process helps by separating the dead skin from the healthy skin.
