Our Favorite High-Activity Vacation Spots in the U.S.

French Quarter, New Orleans USA

Sometimes, we long for a relaxing vacation, where all we do is laze away on a quiet beach or spend countless hours at a spa. But other times, we want a more adventurous vacation, where we can fully experience new cities, surroundings, cuisines, and cultures. If you are looking for a more of a go-go-go, activity-based vacation, consider the following U.S. destinations.

New York City, New York

There’s always something to do in the City That Never Sleeps. Catch an unforgettable Broadway (or Off-Broadway) performance, then wander around the Metropolitan Museum of Art until closing before trying some outstanding ethnic food, like authentic Chinese in Chinatown or Italian in Little Italy. To see the city from a jaw-dropping vantage point, visit the City Climb at Edge, the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere.

New Orleans, Louisiana

Thanks to its live music, amazing food, French culture, and energetic nightlife, New Orleans is easily one of the most popular vacation spots in the U.S. The locals’ passion and spirit are truly addictive. You’ll never want to leave once you taste exquisite local dishes like jambalaya, po’boys, beignets, and crawfish. Then, as the sun goes down, indulge in spooky nighttime activities like the Ghosts, Vampires, and Voodoo French Quarter Tour. If that sort of thing is too creepy for you, sit down and get a tarot reading from one of the best.

Las Vegas, Nevada

They call Las Vegas “Sin City” for a reason. It’s an adult playground where you can do practically anything – if you’re willing to throw your inhibitions down the drain. Start all of your evenings on the Strip: Dine at one of the top-rated celebrity chef restaurants before club-hopping or gambling the night away. During the day, find your favorite poolside dance party or take a break from the booze and visit Red Rock Canyon. Hoover Dam and ATV tours are also very popular. For the under-21 crowd, there are still plenty of things to do, like visiting the iconic Fountains of Bellagio and catching a Cirque du Soleil performance!

Nashville, Tennessee

Are you looking for some good ol’ Southern charm and boot-stomping country music? Nashville is the place to be. In the Capital of Country Music, you never know what you’re going to find. Head to the Bluebird Cafe to see what performances are scheduled; you might get lucky and see the next Taylor Swift sing their heart out. You can also visit celebrity-owned haunts like Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar, Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk & Rock ’n’ Roll Steakhouse, and Luke Bryan’s 32 Bridge Food + Drink; occasionally, the artists themselves pop in for surprise concerts.
