Though we typically lean for pastel colors and light textures during the spring, Rodarte broke the mold, showing us how incredible these colors and textures can look in the fall. Delicate fabrics, collars, bows, and feminine prints and shapes are paired with structured coats and masculine outerwear to show contrast. The last few years, we were told to brave the chilly weather with the ’80s-style puffer jackets, but this year, the statement jacket is back! Comme des Garçons and Louis Vuitton made outerwear the unsung stars of their runway shows and have us ready for the temperature to drop.
Among the two jacket styles making a comeback are ’90s-style leather jackets and bomber jackets. It’s been a while since the military-inspired piece has been in the spotlight, so we’re glad to see it taking the reins once again.
