5 Farmers Market Staple Outfits

With spring here and summer quickly approaching, we can’t help but get excited about early morning trips to the farmers market! Seriously, what’s better than grabbing a cup of coffee at your favorite cafe and then heading to the market to buy some local produce for a delicious meal…and maybe snagging a homemade pie or a fresh bouquet of flowers? Not much tops that. What does one wear on a perfect spring or summer morning to partake in these wonderful outdoor activities?

Thankfully, we’ve got you covered! We’ve put together a few of our favorite farmers market approved outfits that we hope give you a little inspiration! Let’s get started.

Button Down Dress

We adore the look of a button-down dress. It’s light and easy to wear but also looks super trendy. Perhaps a solid color is what you tend to gravitate toward, or maybe you’re more of a bold print kind of person? You can find a dress to match your taste.

We would pair any button-down dress with some vintage sunnies and a flat sandal. If it’s still a little chilly where you live, throw on your favorite cardigan. Opt for a big woven bag or oversized canvas tote to carry all your fresh finds!

Linen Overalls

Linen overalls are a great addition to your warm-weather wardrobe – whether you plan on visiting the farmers market or not. Paired with the perfect tee and slip-on mules, they make for a super trendy outfit.

Overalls are another piece that you can pick and choose from to find your perfect pair. If you like a cuffed look, snag some that are ankle length and roll them up. If you love the raw hem look, get a pair long enough that will allow you to chop them off. You can also go for a cropped length or an overall-short if that’s what you like. Again, a slip-on mule looks super trendy with overalls, but you can’t go wrong with a two-strap sandal or a flatform.

Floral Wrap Midi Skirt

Floral wrap midi skirts are perfect for cruising downtown and hitting up the farmers market! These skirts are super light, have just enough volume to add a bit of drama, and they’re comfortable to move around in.

Dress up a midi skirt with a knotted plain tee, strappy sandals, and a woven bag – or go a little edgy by pairing your midi skirt with a vintage band tee and your favorite worn-in sneakers. Again, if it’s a little cool out yet, go ahead and layer up with a denim jacket, leather jacket, or even your favorite oversized button-down. If you love the look of a button-down with your skirt, knot it and cuff those sleeves a couple of times, and you’ll be Insta-ready.

Plain White Tee + Mini Skirt Combo

Sometimes less is more, you know? We happen to think the combination of a plain white tee and a button-down mini skirt is one of those times. This outfit is super chic and timeless.

Pair these pieces with your favorite crossbody bag, sunglasses, vintage scarf, and sandals, and you’ll be good to go! Not only is this outfit great for the farmers market, but it can also go anywhere after that: brunch, shopping, your favorite museum – we love the versatility!
