Have you seen the trendy new shades taking over Instagram? They are a breath of fresh air from the typical bug-eyed shade designs and are what you’d imagine sunglasses looking like 100 years from now.
The science-fiction inspired look first made a debut back in 2016 at Akris’ spring/summer show. Then in fall 2017, Demna Gvaslia, creative director of Balenciaga debuted them again on runways.
Second time’s a charm. Now they’ve become popular street style. Besides the Instagram craze surrounding them, celebrities are sporting the specs too – including Kendall Jenner.
Are they effective in protecting the eyes from UV rays?
Not sure, but they look great with a white tee and a pair blue jeans.
If you’re having trouble finding the Balenciaga’s version, you can certainly find similar iterations on the market.
