Removing Acrylics at Home
Acrylic nails are a great option for those who want long, beautiful nails but can’t seem to grow or maintain them naturally. Acrylics can be almost any length and shape that your heart desires, plus they seem to last forever! The longevity of acrylics is a draw, but it also means that they’re hard to remove. If you don’t want to go to a salon and pay to have them taken off, TikTok has the at-home answer you’ve been looking for: Start by filling a bowl with warm water, soap, and argan oil. Once you soak your fingers for long enough, your acrylic nails should slide right off!
Perfect Edges
Painting your nails can be messy, especially when it comes to your dominant hand. If you’re tired of chipping off the excess polish that gets all over your cuticles, there’s a TikTok hack you might want to try. First, cover your finger surrounding the nail with Vaseline. Then, paint your nail as you normally would. When you’ve finished, grab a Q-tip and wipe off all of the Vaseline. Any excess polish should come off with it, leaving you with clean painted nails.
Easy Polka Dots
Want fancy nails at home? You don’t have to be an artist for this design. TikTok has revealed an excellent hack for creating perfect polka dots in seconds! First, paint your base color and let it dry completely. Then, bend open a bobby pin and dip one end into the color for the dots. From there, just tap the bobby pin to your nail and repeat.
Flawless French Tips
We’ve seen French tips or some variety of them on a lot of celebrities lately, including Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner. TikTok has revealed a way to get the perfect French tip with no special tools required. To start, paint your nail your desired base color. This could be a nude pink for a classic French tip or something brighter if you want to create a statement nail. Once the first color is dry, take the second color and dab it on the inside of your finger on the opposite hand. Then, push your nail into the line of polish – this will leave you with a thin, curvy line at the tip.
