As the winter drags on, we can’t help but want to start planning a spring break getaway. Whether you are still in school, have kiddos, or simply need a break from the everyday, here is a list of some of the best spring break destinations suitable for different age groups and interests. We hope this helps you plan your dream vacation!
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
Punta Cana is a breathtaking Caribbean destination with clear sparkling water, white-sand beaches, all-inclusive resorts, and tropical adventures. It offers the perfect beach weather, with temperatures in the mid-70s to the mid-80s – and low rain probability – during the spring months.
Oaxaca is a destination rich in culture where you can travel with friends, alone, or with family. Oaxacan cuisine is a unique blend of influence from 16 indigenous groups that originated in Oaxaca, along with influences brought by conquistadors that interweave through much of Mexican cooking. Outside of food, there is a lot to explore, including el Zócalo, Monte Albán, Hierve el Agua, and Árbol del Tule.
If you’re a nature buff, Yosemite National Park is the place to be for spring break. In March, the crowds aren’t large, and you can appreciate the beauty of attractions like Tunnel View without the rush of tourists. You should encounter waterfalls flowing with snowmelt and fair weather (though there is potential for rain or snow). Must-see sights include Sentinel Bridge, Bridalveil Fall, and Half Dome.
Amsterdam is an excellent spring break setting for music lovers and young adults. In April, Amsterdam is the home of an electronic music festival, but there are also plenty of other things to see and do, including taking an Amsterdam Canal Cruise, checking out the Van Gogh Museum, walking the city by day, and enjoying the nightlife.
Honolulu is another beach destination to check out during spring break, with temperatures averaging in the mid-80s. It is great for adults with or without kids in tow. For those with younger children, Disney’s Aulani Resort, just a 30-minute drive from the Honolulu Airport, has plenty of on-property activities and dining options. For adults, there are tiki bars, fine dining, water adventures, and hiking trails.
