Technically, summer starts on June 20th, but we’ve had a hard-enough year, so let’s just get the ball rolling with sunshine, days spent by the water, popsicles, and more. With summer comes the common trends we see wrap back around year after year, and a few new ones we’re excited to work into our wardrobes. Scroll to discover the perfect mix between new and old trends we’re going to live in all summer long.

White Jeans

Despite the fact I wear white year-round (the Labor Day rule is null), summer is the season where white, specifically denim, really shines. Nothing says summer more than a pair of perfectly fitting, relaxed white denim paired with striped tanks, femme blouses, or even your swimsuit top. Yellow

Bright colors have always had a place in summer fashion, but this summer I’m gravitating towards sunny yellow for everything from full-on-outfits to delicate accessories. Plus, this color gets better as we get tanner. With so many different shades of yellow, you’re sure to find something you love. Linen

This is probably the best material anyone can wear in the summer. It’s lightweight, it breathes well, it cuts back on sweating, and it pretty much looks good no matter the silhouette. Most brands buy heavily into this fabric for the summer, so there’s plenty of brands to shop and styles to discover made in this summer-ready material. Swimwear as Tops

As mentioned with white denim, a big trend this summer is having your swimwear work overtime as a top to wear with jeans, shorts, skirts, and more. What could be more summer than that? Not ready to wear a bikini top masquerading as a shirt? This also goes for one-piece swimwear so you can participate in the trend and feel comfortable and covered. Bermuda Shorts

What goes around comes around, and Bermuda shorts are back in the fashion spotlight. This long-short trend is overtaking cut-off denim shorts as the bottoms trend for the season. It’s easy to wear these shorts casually or dress them up. They can be worn with sneakers, sandals, and heels, making this the most versatile trend for summer. Not sure how to rock the Bermuda short? The great thing about all of these trends is whether you’re staying around the house this summer or taking small adventures out, each of these trends can cater to your activities.
