Storage Tips and Tricks

Whether simply packing away old belongings or making room for new items you received over the holidays, finding storage space in your home can be a major pain. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you store your belongings with ease!

Hang Your Pots and Pans

If you struggle with finding kitchen storage, try hanging your pots and pans rather than storing them in your cabinets. This is a great way to save space, plus it offers a trendy look that your guests will be envious of!

Utilize Above Cabinet Space

If you’re still short on cabinet storage, why not utilize the space above your cabinets? Farmhouse accessories, such as baskets and bins, can easily fit above cabinets, providing ample storage space that’s out of the way – yet still accessible when you need them.

Rely On Vacuum-Seal Bags

If you’re storing pillows, blankets, or bulkier apparel, closet space can run out rather quickly. Try using vacuum-seal bags to store these items without taking up nearly as much space.

Get Rid of Bulky Boxes

If your pantry is full of boxes, it’s time to get rid of them. Relying on plastic containers, hanging dividers, and other space organizers can save you room – possibly even enough to dedicate a shelf or two to your other belongings, such as your infrequently used kitchen items.

Invest in a Hanging Laundry Hamper

Finding room for your hamper can be difficult in a small space without creating clutter or taking away from your decor. Rather than dealing with these problems, invest in a hanging laundry hamper that you can neatly hang behind your closet door. It gives you a place (that isn’t the floor) to keep your dirty clothes, and it won’t at all detract from your space.

Use Dryer Sheets to Keep Bugs Away

Scented dryer sheets may be able to deter pests. So, whether you’re keeping your belongings in your garage, storage facility, attic, or basement, stick a few dryer sheets in your storage bins. Just remember that you’ll likely have to replace them throughout the year.
