Whether you work from home or go into an office, getting out of bed in the morning can be challenging. To help motivate yourself to rise and shine, here are a few helpful tips.
Go to Bed Earlier
The earlier you go to bed, the more likely you are to wake up refreshed and energized. You will have to train your body to do this, so turn your phone and TV off and grab a book instead. Close your eyes as soon as you can to get as much sleep as possible. Can’t fall asleep? Try natural melatonin supplements.
Get Into a Routine
One of the first steps to getting more sleep is sticking to a schedule. This means that you should be getting up at the same time every morning and going to bed at the same time at night. It may take some time to ease into it, but eventually, you will condition your body to maintain a balanced circadian rhythm and consistent sleep schedule.
Add Some Light
As soon as your alarm goes off in the morning, turn on the lights. Darkness promotes sleepiness, so the darker your room, the more likely you’ll want to stay in bed. Those lights will get you up and moving in no time.
Skip Snooze
The snooze button is notoriously favored by people who are perpetually late, but did you know that hitting it has some major health implications? The quality and length of that snooze (usually only five or so minutes) just isn’t worth the grogginess that is sure to follow.
Commit to a Workout Routine
Working out is good for you for so many reasons, including improving your quality of sleep. Waking up early is easier when you have a daily workout routine built into your schedule.
Drink Water
Is coffee your go-to morning beverage? We get it! But before you reach for your caffeine fix, drink a glass of water instead. If you hydrate in the morning before coffee, you should feel more awake and rejuvenated before long!
