Some of the most beautiful women are famed not just for their iconic looks but also for the way they walk. Consider the moves of Beyoncé, Angelina Jolie and Marilyn Monroe. Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian are known for strutting their stuff. Now researchers are confirming the importance of gait and saying how a woman moves is important in whether others find her attractive.
Marilyn Monroe was renowned for the wiggle in her walk. Angelina Jolie walks with a sexy swagger, and Beyoncé is famous for the way she moves her body. Reality stars Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian often wear heels to exaggerate their walk.
Are these women perfect examples of a new study that reveals women who take shorter steps and wiggle their hips are seen as more attractive? Scientists aren’t exactly sure why, but they suggest gait may reveal important clues to a woman’s fitness, age and reproductive health.
“I’m not sure why a particular walking style is considered attractive, but gait might be giving away important clues to a woman’s fitness and age – key components of reproductive health,” says Dr. Ed Morrison from the University of Portsmouth.
