Summer 2023 Fashion Trends

Summer is approaching, and we are ready for warm weather. Below are some of the trends expected for summer 2023 and a few inspo pieces to help you create the perfect summer look.

Lace

Lace camis and slips were everywhere in the early 2000s, and they’re back for summer 2023. Think of sheer dresses combined with satin and lace; it’s a sexy style that makes bedroom lingerie fashionable for everyday wear. We love this bold and sexy Topshop Contrast Lace Color Block Slip Dress ($84, shop here). And this Free People Lizzy Lace Babydoll Tank ($78, shop here) will be perfect for hot, sunny days.

Cargo Bottoms

Cargo pants and skirts have come a long way and can be styled fashionably. It’s all about finding the best cargo bottoms for your shape and making your own. We like these lightweight Project Gap Organic Cotton Cargo Parachute Pants ($98, shop here) and this Reformation Maggi Cargo Midi Skirt ($148, shop here).

Grunge

There has been a rise in demand for moody clothes – including grunge fashion from the late ’90s and early 2000s. Grunge appeared at the Burberry Spring/Summer 2023 runway show. With a few staple pieces, you can make it your own. A good starting point is this R13 Shredded Seam Shirt ($450, shop here). A garment that personifies grunge but has more flare is the Miss Sixty Contrast Mesh Ruffle Denim Skirt ($229, shop here).

Fit and Flare – Peplum

Whether you love it or hate it, peplum is making another comeback this summer. Why is this fit-and-flare style so popular? For many people, the silhouette creates the curvy look they yearn for. Two beautiful garments that achieve this look are the Banana Republic Anisa Cut-Out Mini Dress ($190, shop here) and Lulus In A Ruffle White Ruffled Hook and Eye Top ($42, shop here).

Fringe

Fringe always seems to come back into fashion, and we love that it suits all styles. For example, fringe clothing comes in bold and bright pieces and minimalist tones and can range from long dramatic edges, like this Banana Republic Sevilla Suede Fringe Skirt ($500, shop here), to subtle small frills, such as this Dissh Georgie White Linen Fringe Crop Top ($89.99, shop here).
