It’s safe to say that Costume designers for film and TV definitely don’t get the recognition they deserve. Let’s face it, wardrobe adds an important dynamic to the characters we know and love. There are several shows that have been praised for their brilliant wardrobes in recent years such as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Stranger Things, The Queen’s Gambit, and many others. Today, we’re discussing what we would consider a cult classic: That 70’s Show.

We’re starting off strong with this iconic look from the character Donna. We’re seeing a huge bell bottom revival happening right now, and we love the look of them paired with a baseball tee and retro sneaker.

For our ‘fit, we opted for a high-waisted bell bottom with a baseball tee tucked in, and some high top Chuck Taylors. To dress this outfit up a bit more, we added some bangles, hoop earrings, and a vintage scarf worn bandana style.

Every character on That 70’s Show had a wardrobe that was perfectly tailored to their personalities, so narrowing it down was very difficult, but just look at this precious embroidered top. How could we not talk about this?!

We added our own spin on this outfit by pairing an embroidered top with a mini skirt, sandals, and vintage sunglasses. When it comes to the top, our favorite way to wear it is tied, just above the waist. You can also french tuck the top in, or tuck it in all the way around. For shoes, we suggest to keep it neutral. You’ll want the embroidery to be the star of the show.

Damn, Jackie! She’s always sporting some killer ‘fits. This dress is the ultimate spring and summertime piece; dress it down with some athletic sneakers or dress it up with a fun platform shoe.

We paired this dress with a fringe (yes, fringe) denim jacket and a platform wooden heel. As for accessories, we can’t get over simple gold hoops, and we also added a mini crochet purse to complete the look.

We love how this wardrobe perfectly portrays Jackie’s beautiful, feminine style (and a whole lot of attitude). This would be the best little retro outfit to wear throughout the warmer months, and could easily transition to fall and winter.

For the spring and summertime, we paired a denim mini skirt with a retro ringer tee and a platform sandal. To transition this look to the fall and winter months, pair your mini skirt with a cozy cropped sweater and some ankle booties!

Let’s not forget about Hyde’s impeccable style. There are so many different ways to wear a Harley tee; solo in the spring and summer, and then layered up with a turtleneck or bleached flannel in the winter.

For our look, we paired a Harley tee with bell bottom jeans, a western belt, and a platform boot. That’s it, that’s the ‘fit. Serving major ‘70s vibes, in the best possible way.

Consider our hearts melted. And sure, maybe Hyde wasn’t the most fashionable character, but you can’t go wrong with a sweet band tee. At this point, we consider band tees a vital part of a capsule wardrobe.

We decided to go bold for our last look, and we paired a vintage band tee with striped flares and a pair of clogs. If you want to throw some jewelry on, we suggest layering gold chains and bangles to complete the boho look.
