At this point, it feels like I was born with a liquid liner in my hand. Sure, in my early teen years I struggled through what I could find at the grocery store (and what my dad would actually buy for me), but once I became old enough to go out shopping on my own with allowance in hand, I discovered the wonder of Sephora and Ulta, and quickly got to know the world of liquid liner that lives beyond drugstore brands. Through trial and error of many brands, these are the top four that I’ve found last the longest, are the easiest to apply, and are overall worth the price tag of luxury makeup brands.
Glossier Pro Tip
Yes, Glossier is definitely a popular brand and the line between if their product is actually amazing or if it’s just pretty can be a fine one at times; however, I am here to say that their Pro Tip liquid liner is actually a very solid choice. Surprisingly less expensive than the other brands on this list ($16), the ultra-fine tip of the pen allows for masterful lining precision. It allows for simple lining, a precise cat-eye, or a wide wing. Plus, in a cute pink container, it’ll look adorable on your countertop or in your makeup bag. Click here to shop Glossier Pro Tip.
Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner
This is the black eyeliner for those who mean business. Yes, all these eyeliners are black, but this one is the Real Deal. It goes on slightly thicker, so this pen is great for a dramatic look. But don’t let that discourage you, it’s easy to use this liner for every day as well. Also, of the four, this one goes on the smoothest. It is as silky as they come and does not move all day. Not to play favorites…but of the top four this is my #1. It’s my “do it all” liner that I know can accomplish any look I’m going for and can match any mood I’m in. Lorac Front of The Line Pro Liquid Eyeliner
I really love this eyeliner because of how sturdy the brush is. It gives you a lot of control over your wing. I would say this is the best pen to start with for liquid liner beginners. It also lasts forever. You can go a very long time between shopping trips with this liner which is a huge plus. Like the other liners on this list, this liner lasts all day, so feel free to apply in the morning and not worry about mid-day touchups. Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
This liner shares similar positive points as the other liners, but this one is waterproof. As we go into summer, it’s always good to invest in a waterproof liner for days spent at the beach or pool. The liner goes on easily, dries quickly, and lasts all day. I definitely recommend this liner for active days spent outside. Click here to shop the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner.
