Five Margarita Recipes We Can’t Get Enough Of

  • Tequila is our jam, and we’d be darned if we had to consume a below-average margarita. We have cocktail recipe books and ingredients on deck for when friends come over (or when we’ve had a long day at the office). What are some of our favorite recipes? We’re glad you asked!     (image via taste of home)A mango margarita sounds simple enough, but this recipe has a twist: a teeny bit of sriracha! Mix the right amount of spice with sweetness, and you have this delicacy, courtesy of Taste of Home. Savory on the lips, this baby will have you craving more.Ingredients:
  •  1 lime wedge
  • Coarse salt
  • 1½ oz blanco tequila
  • 1 oz mango nectar
  • ½ oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • ½ tsp Sriracha chili sauce
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • Sliced, peeled mango

Instructions:

  • Wet rim of a cocktail glass with lime wedge and dip in salt.
  • Place tequila, mango nectar, lime juice, sriracha, and frozen mango into a blender.
  • Cover and process until smooth.
  • Pour mix into a prepared glass; garnish with a lime wedge and sliced mango.The Perfect Pomegranate Margarita
    (image via food & wine)Add some tart to your taste buds with this tequila-pomegranate drink recipe from Food & Wine. It’s great for an afternoon pick-me-up or a nightcap when the warm weather surrounds you.Ingredients:
  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1 oz pomegranate juice
  • ¾ fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz agave nectar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 lime wheel, for garnishInstructions:Add tequila, pomegranate juice, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, and salt into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
    Shake vigorously until outside of the shaker is frosty.
    Strain into a rocks glass with ice.
    Garnish with a lime wheel.The Watermelon-Mint Margarita
    (image via southern living)If the sun is shining bright and the temp is 70 degrees or above, this slushy watermelon mix from Southern Living will keep you cool. Not only is it extremely flavorful, but it also has that bit of freshness (thanks to the mint). It’s an easy drink to make in batches, so call some friends and get the party started.Ingredients:

    4 cups seeded and chopped watermelon
    ½ cup tequila
    ¼ cup sugar
    1 Tbsp grated lime rind
    ¼ cup fresh lime juice
    2 Tbsp chopped fresh mint leaves

    Instructions:

    Place watermelon in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze for approximately 4 hours, until firm.
    Coat the rims of your cocktail glasses with lime juice and dip them in sugar.
    Process frozen watermelon with tequila and remaining ingredients in a blender until slushy.
    Pour the mix into glasses; garnish with mint if desired.

    If you want something subtle that’s easy to sip, this lavender margarita from Food Network is the way to go. It’s delicate on the tongue with a hint of citrusy tang – great by itself or paired with a simple appetizer.

    Ingredients:

    2 oz silver tequila
    ½ oz Cointreau
    1 oz lavender simple syrup
    ½ lime
    Sugar
    Dried lavender

    Instructions:

    In a shaker, combine tequila, Cointreau, simple syrup, and juice of half a lime. Let sit.
    On a plate, mix sugar and dried lavender. Use this combo to rim the outside of a rocks glass.
    Fill glass with ice.
    Shake and strain contents of strainer into glass.

    We had to end the suggestions with a BAM! What better way to do that than to suggest these margarita jelly shots, courtesy of Food Network? These go down pretty swiftly, and they hit all the right spots. Try not to say “yes” to too many, though, because you might end up a wee bit hammered.

    Ingredients:

    ⅓ cup sugar
    3 limes, juiced
    ⅔ cup seltzer water
    ¼ oz packet unflavored gelatin
    ⅔ cup tequila
    2 Tbsp orange liqueur
    Flaky sea salt

    Instructions:

    Combine sugar, lime juice, and ⅔ cup regular water in a medium microwave-safe bowl.
    Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until sugar is dissolved, about 2 minutes.
    Add seltzer water to syrup mixture and sprinkle gelatin on top. Let sit for 5 minutes.
    Microwave bloomed gelatin mix until it dissolves, about 30 seconds.
    Stir in tequila and orange liquor.
    Divide mix among twelve 2-ounce glasses.
    Refrigerate until set, about 3 hours.
    Before serving, garnish shots with a pinch of flaky sea salt.
