Traditionally, women’s watches were dainty and slim, often adorned by mother-of-pearls and diamonds. Men’s watches, on the other hand, had wider faces and sturdier bands. Recently, however, many manufacturers have stopped categorizing watches for males and females. And even if watches are labeled “men’s,” that doesn’t mean women can’t rock them! We’ve selected a few of our favorite watch styles to keep on your radar!
Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical 38 mm ($495, shop here)
If you need a practical watch that is reliable and comfortable, this model from Hamilton, a callback to 1960s military-style timepieces, is the style for you. It is an everyday watch that will look great with practically any outfit.
Seiko Presage Automatic SRPG07 ($525, shop here)
Another watch that will bring you right back to the 1960s is this easy-to-wear timepiece from the Japanese brand Seiko. It is both fashionable and affordable, and while it is available in champagne and blue, we can’t get over how beautiful the green version is.
Autodromo Group B Series 2 Automatic in White ($975, shop here)
Autodromo, which specializes in all types of motoring accessories, including watches, created its Group B Series 2 to pay homage to the mid-1980s, often deemed the last romantic era of motorsport. It was also a time of technological advancement and increased use of exotic materials. Our favorite Corsica blue version is currently sold out, but it is available in other colors.
Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Automatic Blue Rubber Watch ($1,095, shop here)
Do you like pops of color in your accessories? This watch from Zodiac is exactly what you need! Rubber straps are durable and water-resistant, so this style is perfect if you work in a field where a bracelet or NATO strap could be easily damaged.
Oris Big Crown Pointer Date ($1,900, shop here)
Storied Swiss watch brand Oris has been manufacturing its Big Crown Pointer since the 1930s. Because the watch was originally made for pilots, the brand made sure the face was easy to read. You can customize the Big Crown in a variety of sizes, colors, and materials to decorate your wrist with elegance. We like this 36 mm version with a bronze bezel and blue dial.
Nomos Glashütte Metro Date Power Reserve ($3,780, shop here)
The priciest model on our list, this timepiece from Swiss brand Glashütte is reminiscent of midcentury-modern design and wears bigger than some of the other watches we featured. It is a watch with a major personality and a must-have for anyone open to the cost and size.
