We don’t know about you, but we are obsessed with this 2000s fashion revival that’s been going on. And, much to our content, H&M recently dropped a Y2K aesthetic collection! Let’s look at some of our favorite Y2K trends and our corresponding H&M picks.
Cropped Tops/Baby Tees
Baby tees are cropped above the belly button and usually have a design or logo across the chest. They go with just about anything from miniskirts to mom jeans. If you wore these back in the 2000s and can still rock one today, then you’ve won.
Our H&M Pick: 2-Pack Crop T-Shirts ($12.99, shop here)
Pleated Skirts
Think Cher from Clueless! Any length goes: micro-mini, knee-length, and anywhere in between.
Our H&M Pick: Pleated Skirt in Light Pink Plaid (24.99, shop here)
Mesh Tops
These tops scream Y2K, and we love the modern updates à la pastel colors and bright patterns. To style, we recommend baggy cargo jeans and Dr. Martens.
Our H&M Pick: Mesh Top ($9.99, shop here)
Velour Tracksuits
In the 200s, Juicy Couture and Baby Phat dominated the fashion world with these matching sets, with Paris Hilton and Britney Spears leading the charge.
Our H&M Pick: Velour Pants ($17.99, shop here) and Velour Hooded Jacket ($17.99, shop here)
Body-Con Dresses
Today’s body-con dresses come in various textiles and silhouettes, like soft knits and halters. We love the idea of adding a little dimension with an oversized light-wash denim jacket and chunky white sneakers.
Our H&M Pick: Knit Halterneck Dress ($24.99, shop here)
Fur-Trimmed Jackets
These jackets are so over the top. We love the idea of pairing them with a front-button miniskirt, a crop top, and chunky or flared heels.
Our H&M Pick: Faux Fur-Trimmed Jacket ($49.99, shop here)
