To the Max: The Pros and Cons of Maxi Attire

We love maxi garments. They are flattering for so many reasons. But when you see maxi skirts, and especially maxi dresses, on hangers, they often look a little disproportionate, to say the least. We’re here to share some pros and cons of maxi skirts and dresses – and a few of our favorite styles.

Pros of Maxi Attire

There’s no need to shave your legs. Yes, we’re starting with this on purpose! Let’s be real: Shaving is optional, no matter what you’re wearing. But, if you prefer to cover up your unshaven gams, a maxi dress or skirt is the perfect solution.

They’re comfortable. Between the shapes and fabrics, maxi skirts and dresses are just downright cozy.

You can dress them up or down. Channel your inner boho and wear the baggiest maxi dress you can find. On the other hand, if you are attending a formal event, a maxi dress can be an appropriate option.

They come in unlimited colors and prints. No matter your style, you can make a maxi work for you.

They can be worn across all seasons. In the fall and winter, add a denim jacket, an oversized cardigan, or a chunky sweater; come spring and summer, simply shed those layers!

Cons of Maxi Attire

Choosing the shape can be a challenge. We highly recommend easing into maxi wear with a maxi skirt, and from there, take the time to try on a ton of different shapes and styles to find the ones you love.

Length can be an issue. Of course, the point of maxi skirts and dresses is that they’re long, but how long is too long? What if you’re on the shorter side? Nobody wants to trip over their skirt – or get it dirty.
