There seems to be a new online fitness platform popping up everyday! With tons of options out there, my eye was drawn to the aesthetically pleasing colors and upbeat spirit of Obé Fitness. I was missing the camaraderie of my studio classes and wanted to try something that made me feel like I was in a gym again. If you’ve been feeling the same way, Obé Fitness might be your new workout solution.
What is Obé Fitness?
This online platform has tons of classes on demand (over 5,400), in addition to 22 live classes a day that work for any schedule and motivate you to come back for the next session. Obé offers everything from cardio dance to barre and boxing! Most of their classes are 28 minutes long, but there’s a range—anywhere from five minutes to an hour – so there’s no excuse not to get out of bed and do these workouts!
If you’ve got specific fitness goals, like toning your arms or leveling up your yoga practice, Obé offers training programs targeted to specific areas or skills that range from a week to a month in length.
Free Trial Period
I signed up with a promo code for half off my first month, and they offer the first week free as a trial period. I figured I could always cancel my membership if I wasn’t hooked. I downloaded the app and it gave me simple instructions to broadcast the classes on my TV. Of course, you can always use your phone or your laptop, but I liked being able to see the class on a big screen.
For my first class, I chose an on-demand dance HIIT (high intensity interval training) class taught by Walter. Am I a dancer? No, but I love workouts where you don’t actually feel like you’re working out. This class was So. Much. Fun. I’m a clock watcher when I workout, meaning I’m always looking at the clock counting down how much time I have left. The 28 minutes of this class passed by so fast and I spent my time sweating, dancing, and laughing. Yes, laughing. Walter is beyond funny and makes you feel like he’s right there in the room having the best time with you.
My Takeaway
After this first class, I was sold. Since then, I’ve tried to stick with their “strive for five” motto where they suggest completing five classes a week. I’ve tried barre, boxing, sculpt, and have taken live classes as well as their on-demand offerings. Let me tell you, when an instructor calls out your name in a live class, you feel like you’re right back in the studio. No slacking off allowed!
All in all I would absolutely recommend Obé Fitness to anyone who’s missing their studio classes. The instructors are high energy, the music is upbeat, and you can’t beat the class selection.
