Removing makeup is perhaps one of the most annoying things to do at night, especially if it’s waterproof makeup. But it’s a beauty sin to go to sleep with your eye makeup still caked on. It causes everything from acne breakouts to enlarged pores and even wrinkles.
We’re here to give you some great tips on how to properly remove your stubborn eye makeup. After reading this, you’ll never go to sleep with your makeup still caked on again!
Coconut Oil
If you’re looking for another great way to use coconut oil, it’s the most natural and gentle way to remove your eye makeup. While we love a good deal on store-bought eye makeup removers, this simple trick not only removes all that stubborn makeup, but it’s also gentle on your skin and lashes. The results leave the skin around your eyes feeling soft and rejuvenated!
Just rub a pea-sized drop between your fingers and massage the oil all over your lids, focusing on areas like your eyelids and lashes. Make sure to be gentle while the oil works to melt the makeup off! The combination of heat and oil makes the makeup slide right off. Use warm water or a washcloth to remove the coconut oil easily and voila!
Cover Girl Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover
We think this product is by far the best and most effective at removing eye makeup. The creamy texture softly rubs away all the product and breaks down waterproof mascara and eyeliner in seconds — no need for excessive rubbing. Just put a few drops on cotton pads and hold it on your eyelids for 10 seconds. Now, swipe it all off to remove everything. It’s so easy, and it doesn’t irritate the eye area.
Oil-based Cleanser
We’ve seen a lot of celebrities and dermatologist start their night routine with an oil-based cleanser to remove their makeup and any other pore-clogging impurities on their skin. It cleanses away dirt and makeup that regular cleanser can’t remove. Start with a dry face and use 1 or 2 pumps of your favorite oil cleanser depending on our skin type. Then gently massage the product on your entire face. Your face might start looking crazy with all that makeup, but that means it’s working! Lastly, rinse it off with warm water and follow up with your regular cleanser.
I used to love using coconut oil, but the mild smell it has makes me want to gag. I switched to Albolene moisturizing cleanser and I love it. It takes everything off and moisturizes my skin.
