Winter is nearly upon us, which means, unfortunately, it’s almost cold and flu season. The good thing is we can start preparing now. Here are some foods to keep stocked in your kitchen that can boost your immune system and keep germs at bay.
Oranges
You probably guessed this one would be high on our list. Oranges are packed with vitamin C, which helps boost the immune system. All things considered, it’s never a bad idea to have oranges readily available during the cooler months.
Greek Yogurt
Greek yogurt contains sickness-fighting probiotics and a ton of protein, making it another food that can improve the immune system. Top your Greek yogurt with honey and ripe berries, and you have a delicious, cold-fighting concoction.
Dark Chocolate
Dark chocolate contains a high concentration of theobromine, an antioxidant that can help boost the immune system and alleviate coughing.
Green Tea
Not only is a mug of hot tea comforting when you aren’t feeling well, but it contains flavonoids, a class of antioxidants that boost immunity and have anti-inflammatory properties.
