Do you long for a space all your own where you can get creative, make messes, enjoy some peace and quiet, catch up on TBR lists, and simply be? Us, too! But many of us don’t have extra room in our homes! However, if you have a little space outside and a lot of creativity, you’re halfway to creating a “She Shed”! Here are some tips for building your very own she shed!

Purchase a DIY Kit (Or Spend Some Extra $$)
If you don’t have an old shed in your backyard, there are kits available at places like Home Depot that give you all the materials you need to build on your own – something about creating it yourself will make that first glass of wine in your shed taste so much better! Not a DIY Queen? Try checking out Studio Shed.
Be Smart About Storage
You’re likely not working with a lot of square footage, so this is the time to get creative. Think: benches with storage, lockers, or bookshelves so you can surround yourself with the things you love.
Save Room for Hobbies
The whole purpose of your She Shed is to provide you with a space to embrace your hobbies, whether you’re making pottery, painting, reading, or writing. Don’t sweat it if you don’t have hobbies; your She Shed can also be a place you go to unwind.

Think About Landscaping
Just because your she shed is in the backyard doesn’t mean you can’t add some curb appeal to it! Consider your favorite flowers, a small garden, or a decorative walkway…You’re the queen of this little castle, after all.
Be Thrifty
Don’t think you have to go crazy and spend a ton of money furnishing your She Shed. Instead, head to your local thrift stores and antique shops. Even if you find pieces that need a little TLC, consider it your golden opportunity to make them all your own with a fresh coat of paint or new hardware.
Personalize It
While you’re in the early stages, consider painting the outside – because if you want a bubblegum-pink She Shed, that is precisely what you deserve! For the inside, choose photos to have on display, stock your bookshelves, and start making it feel like your very own home away from home…Mainly because that’s exactly what it is.
