You’ve probably heard of Friendsgiving, but what about Friendsmas? Sometimes, we don’t have family nearby, but we have friends we call family. So, why not host a festive friends-only Christmas event? You can send out a cute evite to get everyone into the holiday spirit. Below are some ideas.
Lodge Getaway
Why not take a trip for a few days away from home? Everyone can chip in to rent a lodge in the mountains, by the beach, or somewhere in the country. You can bring some Christmas decor, exchange presents, and mix holiday cocktails. Make dinner at your lodge or go out for a nice dinner on the town’s main street.
Dinner at Home
Just like with Friendsgiving, you can get together with your friends and have a delicious Friendsmas dinner. Have everyone pitch in to make a dish, play a Christmas movie or music in the background, and create some homemade cocktails to round out the evening. If you don’t want to cook, you can cater from a nearby restaurant that you want to support.
Dinner Event
Another option can be reserving a table at an upscale restaurant for Christmas dinner. You deserve to treat yourself, and if you can afford it, it’s a nice way to spend time with friends this holiday season.
Cocktail Party
If you don’t want to have a full-on dinner, you can always celebrate Friendsmas with tasty signature drinks and easy snacks like a charcuterie platter from your local grocery store. You can do a White Elephant or Secret Santa gift exchange and play music in the background.
Go to a Local Christmas Event
There are many events during the holidays that you can attend with your friends, including local Christmas markets, driving around seeing the house lights, parades, or ice-skating rinks. Bundle up and make a day (or night) of it together.
