Men’s Fashion Trends for Fall 2022

In the same way women’s fashion trends go through phases, style choices for men ebb and flow with the times. Don’t be surprised if you see men rocking these staple pieces this fall!

Statement Jackets

Statement jackets are coming back in full swing – especially ones with a more retro vibe. Thanks to resurgences of classics like Top Gun and TV series like Stranger Things calling attention to the outerwear of years past, you’ll be seeing a lot of striking jackets this season, including:

  • Letterman Jackets: These high school throwbacks have a sporty, laid-back feel and pair perfectly with basic jeans and a neutral tee. This ASOS Design Oversized Leather Varsity Bomber Jacket ($208, shop here) is a great choice for an edgier look.
  • Structured Denim Jacket: This piece can be worn with black pants or jeans for an ensemble that the ’80s would be proud of! The corduroy collar on this Tecovas Denim Trucker Jacket ($125, shop here) makes it even more suitable for fall.
  • Bomber Jacket: Like the letterman jacket, the bomber is back this fall. Opt for one in muted, neutral tones to make it versatile and matchable. This tan Orvis Weatherbreaker Jacket ($129, shop here) is perfectly blends past and current trends.
  • Leather Jacket: Though you can raid your dad’s closet for something true to the era, you can also go for this Wilsons Leather Chris Leather Jacket ($220, shop here), which comes in brown and black.

Sheer Polos

It may sound counterproductive for us to tell you to whip out your sheerest shirt when the temperatures drop, but hear us out: When worn over classic fall pieces like turtlenecks, even sheer polos add a layer of warmth. If you want a little more coverage, opt for a more modest version like this Forever 21 Ribbed Textured Polo Shirt ($24.99, shop here). Or, go all out with this Manière de Voir Lace Resort Shirt ($75, shop here).

Knit Accessories

Knit accessories are a great way to add a cushy, relaxed feel to an outfit without carrying around the bulk of a sweater or cardigan. Of course, nothing beats the look of a heavy knit scarf in a classic fall shade, like this Everlane Felted Merino Waffle Knit Scarf ($80, shop here). Complete the look with this Patagonia Wool Pom Beanie ($49, shop here) and these First Lite Talus Touch Full Finger Gloves ($30, shop here).
