If you’re like us, you can remember the excitement you felt when your favorite Disney Channel show was about to start (cue Hilary Duff tracing the outline of Mickey Mouse with a glow-stick, saying, “I’m Hilary Duff, and you’re watching Disney Channel”). While we would love to take a walk down memory lane and discuss episodes that live in our heads rent-free (like that awkward “I want a bra!” Lizzie McGuire moment), today, we are talking about fashion lessons learned from our favorite Disney Channel shows.

Harper Finkle (Wizards of Waverly Place)

We are starting with the queen of quirk herself: Harper Finkle (played by Jennifer Stone). It wasn’t all the time that she wore retro 1960s cocktail hour-inspired dresses and mod lamp-style hats, but most of the time, Harper loudly and proudly did her own thing. Do we owe a little bit of our confidence to Harper? We certainly think so.

Raven Baxter (That’s So Raven)

Raven Baxter loved fashion, so we thought she was serving major looks back in the day. And now that we’re older and wiser, we see that we were right all along. Raven will always be our favorite trendsetter and a role model when the media wanted us to believe we had to be super-skinny.

Lizzie McGuire

We could go on for days about Lizzie McGuire’s fashion: She loved color matching, piling on accessories, and mixing prints. So when we wanted to rock a sparkly tank top with low-rise flared jeans, platform sandals, butterfly clips, a scarf, and a statement choker, we had Lizzie McGuire to thank.
