2022 Denim Trends

It’s no secret that denim never goes out of style. It can be dressed up for work or going out, and it can be dressed down for a Sunday afternoon stroll. Denim trends evolve and change over time. Take, for instance, the latest denim debate: skinny vs. mom jeans. No matter where you fall, most of us can agree that denim is super-versatile. Let’s look at some of this year’s top denim trends.

Low-Rise

Clothing lines heavily influenced by the early 2000s are dropping, and, of course, they include low-rise jeans. Luckily, for those of us that lived through low-rise jeans the first time, these aren’t going to be the only jeans available.

Slouchy

Think mom jeans, but baggier. We started to see slouchy silhouettes in seasons past, but now, we see them everywhere. Slouchy jeans can be a little intimidating if you’re used to skinny jeans, so there’s no shame in starting with a loose pair to get comfortable with the proportions.

Remember when dark jeans felt very fancy? Well, those days are gone. No worries if you’re really into light washes; those aren’t going anywhere.

All About Details

Patchwork, embroidery, you name it. We love that this denim trend gives new life to old jeans. If you like to DIY, you’re guaranteed to end up with a unique pair of jeans with bragging rights.

Head-to-Toe Denim

Think Canadian tuxedo, but make it fashion. And, honestly, what could be easier than pairing denim with denim? We love the monochromatic look just as much as we love contrasting denim.

Denim Skirts and Dresses

When we think of denim skirts, we remember the ankle-length ones we wore with platform slip-on sandals (and we’re cringing at the thought). But it’s 2022, and we’re all about being chic, so today’s denim skirts and dresses are short.

There’s a good chance you’ve seen someone wearing jeans where one leg is light wash, and the other is dark wash – or one leg is solid and the other checkered. Yeah, those. They are cool again this year.
